DV VISA

The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (DV Program) makes up to 50,000 immigrant visas available annually, drawn from random selection among all entries to individuals who are from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. The DV Program is administered by the U.S. Department of State (DOS).

DV Visa Objective:

The Diversity Visa (DV) program is designed to improve the multicultural composition of the U.S.A.

Application Requirements:

In addition to country requirements, visa lottery applicants must also meet employment or education requirements. Applicants must meet one of two requirements:

  • Completion of an elementary and secondary 12-year education curriculum, such as high school.
  • Two years of work experience at a job that requires at least two years of experience or education.

If prospective applicants cannot meet either the education or work requirements, then they are ineligible for the green card lottery.

APPLICATION NOTICE FOR BANGLADESH

In 2012, Bangladesh became ineligible to participate in the Diversity Visa (DV) Program because more than 50,000 nationals of Bangladesh immigrated to the United States between 2007-2012. Diversity Visa – Beware of Diversity Immigrant Visa Scammers!  As of 2012, Bangladesh is No Longer Eligible to Participate in the Diversity Visa Program. Please keep in mind that DV for U.S.A is not application for Bangladesh after 2012 to today.

The U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh reminds citizens and residents of Bangladesh to use caution when working with private entities to apply for visas to the United States.  The Embassy regularly monitors reports of fraudulent facilitators, e-mails, letters, websites, phone calls, SMS, and print advertisements offering visa services. None of these people are associated with the U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh nor does the Embassy endorse, certify, or approve of any of these services.

Fraud Warning:

Diversity Visa – Beware of Diversity Immigrant Visa Scammers !  As of 2012, Bangladesh is No Longer Eligible to Participate in the Diversity Visa Program. Fraudsters may send you emails claiming you’ve won the Diversity Visa (Green Card) lottery. Never send money to anyone who sends you a letter or email claiming you have won.
